An Emma will chat your ear off. But that’s OK. I so appreciate people like her – especially when I feel like I make things awkward & serious & people move across to the other side of the table to get away. I can’t help it sometimes. I wish I was lighter sometimes. But let’s not start that again.

Emma chatted to me non-stop, skirting over everything from racism to make-up tutorials. I indulged her, asking her questions and giving her my shallow ideas on deep issues. It was nice not to twiddle my thumbs at the empty end of the table and get lost in my head.
